Central Florida’s Historic Train on the Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad

The Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad (TE&G) was a shortline railroad operating in Central Florida, originally chartered in the late 19th century. Serving the Lake County region, it connected the towns of Tavares, Eustis, and other nearby communities, facilitating the transport of citrus, lumber, and passengers. Known for its picturesque routes through rural Florida, the line played a key role in the area's early economic development. In later years, parts of the railroad were used for scenic excursions before eventually ceasing operations.
