Serving the Lake County region, it connected the towns of Tavares, Eustis, and other nearby communities, facilitating the transport of citrus, lumber, and passengers. Known for its picturesque routes through rural Florida, the line played a key role in the area's early economic development. In later years, parts of the railroad were used for scenic excursions before eventually ceasing operations.
